Heather Foster – I Paint Cows, but I Won't Eat Them

Heather Foster, "Did You Just Call Me Lopsided"

Heather has fun painting her cows.  They are people, and she captures this in her work.  You get a sense that if you were any closer, you’d get a big wet tongue on your face.

Excerpt from Heather Foster’s bio:

Heather Foster has always been interested in drawing and painting. Starting at an early age, she took after-school art classes at a local community center. Throughout high school, Heather attended extracurricular art classes at Moore College of Art, the Philadelphia College of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. In 1990 she received a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art.

Heather travels to ranches all over the US to take photographs of her subjects.  She comments that she feels a connection to the animals that she paints and thinks of them as people.  Her connection is evident in the expressions in her paintings.
