About the ANN KOROLOGOS GALLERY

The Ann Korologos Gallery is the new name of the well respected Basalt Gallery, just outside of Aspen, CO. Owner, Ann Korologos is a long time art collector, former U.S. Secretary of Labor and former Chairman of the Aspen Institute. She is a resident of both Basalt, CO and Washington, D.C. Ann's vision for the Gallery as a destination in the Roaring Fork Valley and on the Web has become a reality in this picturesque town in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The Ann Korologos Gallery is focused on art of the West. That means we exhibit Western art, and artist influenced by the West. But we also know that the West is as varied as the landscape and the artists living here. We want to show this in the art we exhibit. For example, we show the work of well known landscape painter, Dan Young along side Santa Fe's master nature abstractionist, Michael Kessler; Cheri Christensen's marvelous long-horns together with the premier etchings of Wyoming's Joel Ostlind; and Elizabeth Sandia's scenic pastels complemented by Gordon Gund's bronze sculptures of jumping salmon or swimming trout. Ann Korologos has a larger goal for her gallery: she wants collectors and artists to connect. This ambition comes from her great love of art. and she wants others to experience the impact art can have in our lives. The gallery presents no fewer than 6 artist talks each year. The collector learns the motivation behind the work, and the artist hears feedback from the collector. “I’d like everyone to leave smarter than when they arrived,” Ann Likes to say.
